1 Peter 1:24-25 New International Version (NIV)
24 For, “All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”[a]
And this is the word that was preached to you.
As soon as we are born we start to die through ageing. As Peter explains, we are like grass or a flower, we have beauty but that beaty begins to fade. However, there is good news as this life is temporary, a passing journey, a short trip en-route to our real destination. When we reach our true destination we will be young, beautiful, never age, never wither and not even need to sleep.
So how do we get to this destination? Well there is one gate that we need to pass through in order to reach this destination. This is the Jesus gate! Jesus creates the bridge and the opening to God so we can each reach the kingdom he planned for us to live in with Him forever, before sin came into the world. Our resident singer songwriter Barry Nicholls wrote a song about this many years ago performed by his band Gods Country (listen below).
So if you want to come by the Jesus gate, be a beautiful flower that doesn’t fade, why not come to one of our services and find out more about Jesus and the Jesus gate? We are open every Sunday from 9.15 am for free toast and a drink, service starts at 10.30am and 6.30pm every Sunday night.
